About us

WELCOME to Barnton Pharmacy.

A well-established independent pharmacy and part of the local community, we have been owned and operated since May 2007 by husband and wife team Alastair and Julie Carmichael, ably supported by an experienced team.

From traditional prescription dispensing through to a full range of skincare products and cosmetics, plus our resident Post Office, we offer an efficient and reliable service to all our clients.

Our reputation is built on our commitment to personal service and attention to detail, which is reflected in the services we offer and the time we take to get to know everyone who comes through our door.

Our dispensing service includes both our while-you-wait and collection and delivery options, where we pick the prescription up from your GP surgery and can deliver it direct to your door, if needed. See the extra information about this timesaving service, on the tab to the left.

Our Opening Hours are:
Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 6.00 pm – not closing at lunchtime!
Saturday 9.00 am to 1.00 pm

We’re well known for offering a range of services to all our clients, including our minor ailments scheme, which we provide in conjunction with the local PCT. The scheme enables us to dispense prescription-only products and medication for a range of ailments and complaints without the need to see a doctor. See our services page for more details.

Stop smoking service, Lipotrim weight loss programme, blood pressure monitoring, emergency hormonal contraception are also available. All consultations take place in our private consultation area.

We are a Numark Pharmacy (www.numarkpharmacists.co.uk) and thus have a wide range of products in the pharmacy, with some excellent Own Brand products at very competitive price.
